Scoops are 2 Tablespoons with a mark at 1 Tbl. A heaping scoop equals 3 Tbl. Most families with top-loading machines use 2 to 3 tablespoons of detergent. Can be used for powder or liquid detergent and for top-loading or front-loading machines. (Front-loaders will use much less detergent, likely 1 tbl or less)
